About Our Library

Welcome to Oaklands Central School Library.  Our library is the hub of the school where a love of reading and literature is fostered and vital information and research skills are taught to all students.

Our collection boast a wide range of resources: Picture Fiction, Junior Fiction, Fiction, Senior Fiction, Non Fiction, Reference, Senior Picture Fiction, Classic and board games.

The library is adjacent to the school's computer lab facilitating student access to information technology.  Our library also houses our mobile interactive screen and will soon house one of the school's video conferencing facilities.

Borrowing

All primary classes visit once a week and Secondary students can borrow during lunch time.

Students are encouraged to use a library bag to store and carry books.

Students are restricted to a maximum number of loans at any given time.  Although there are no overdue fines, lending rights may be affected if library items are not returned.  Students are also required to pay for the lost or damaged items.

My Library

All students have a personal password for accessing the DET portal on a home computer.  To view our school's collection, students can use the My Library link on the DET portal to search for available resources.
